Ayliean MacDonald cares about three things: Education, the Environment, and Equality.
Born and raised rurally in the Highlands of Scotland she went on to enjoy a decade long career as a classroom Maths teacher, and now makes Maths videos which are both featured in the Bridges Short Film Festival and enjoyed by millions on TikTok.
Ayliean feels strongly about making education and academia accessible to those who have experienced socio-economic deprivation and organised the first TEDxInverness as well as developing outreach programmes to get Maths onto the streets and meeting people where they are.
Ayliean is currently a presenter for Simon Singh’s Parallel Maths Circles and Community Mathematician 2023 for Leeds MathsCity.
