John Greenlees has been at the University of Warwick since 2018, where he is Head of the Mathematics Institute. Prior to that, he was based at the University of Sheffield for 28 years, where he also served as Head. Outside his home institutions, he served on the CMS Board for 10 years by virtue of being Vice President of the London Mathematical Society. John was Deputy Chair of the Mathematical Sciences Subpanel REF2021, and a member of a Subpanel in REF2014 and RAE2008.
John has published over 100 papers and 4 books on algebra and topology, and serves on the editorial boards of 3 algebraic topology journals. He has acted as undergraduate External Examiner for 5 institutions, and conducted external reviews for 7 departments, mostly in the UK.
